The place
Untold Mykonos is a private retreat that is both subterranean and above the ground, nestled on a 5000 sq.m. plot of land. This lush oasis is designed to establish a harmonious flow between indoor and outdoor living.
The design proposal
The landscape design draws inspiration from the Cycladic environment, ensuring that every spot of the 3000 sq.m. green areas reflects the spirit of the region. The proposal was thoughtfully conceived and designed to include shrubs from the Maquis shrubland, phrygana, perennials and grasses that are strategically placed to highlight the plot’s best views and offer protection from extreme weather conditions. Through our landscape design proposal, we aimed to transcend the conventional boundaries of the space, providing a holistic living experience where the beauty of nature becomes an integral part of the daily life of the residents of the premises. The seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces stage in our design philosophy, where inner gardens and patios serve as iiving extensions of the interiors. These lush enclaves not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the spaces but also cultivate a serene and grounded atmosphere, blurring the boundaries between the built environment and the natural world. The curated green corners into the villas, such as the basement subtropical garden, shared by two bedrooms or the atriums at the bathrooms of the ground floor, serve as havens of relaxation and contemplation for all who inhabit the place.
The plant palette
The structure of the planting scheme is formed by mediterranean trees, evergreen shrubs, perennials and flows of grasses, phrygana and groundcover plants that are harmonically combined and they work together for the habitat recreation of the landscape. Each element works in concert, creating a tapestry that responds to the topography of the site and accentuates the panoramic views towards the sea. Subtropical plants come together to form living artworks that infuse the interiors with a sense of tranquility and connection to nature.
